{exp:formidable:api_url}

Prints the URL of a JSON API endpoint. The API is one ExpressionEngine action whose id differs between installs, so templates should never hard-code it.

Parameters

form_handle=

Example
form_handle="contact_us"

A form's endpoint: forms/{form_handle}.

submissions=

Values
yes

With form_handle=, the form's submissions endpoint instead: forms/{form_handle}/submissions.

endpoint=

Example
endpoint="forms"

Any endpoint, written out. Used when form_handle= is not given.

Endpoint URLs for a script

Example
templates/default_site/app.group/index.html
<div data-form-src="{exp:formidable:api_url form_handle="contact_us"}"></div>
<div data-forms-src="{exp:formidable:api_url endpoint="forms"}"></div>
Rendered outputCaptured from ExpressionEngine 7.5.26 on 2026-10-11. Signed values and the CSRF token shown as “…”, host replaced with example.com, blank lines collapsed.
<div data-form-src="https://example.com/index.php?ACT=104&endpoint=forms/contact_us"></div>
<div data-forms-src="https://example.com/index.php?ACT=104&endpoint=forms"></div>

The URL alone does not grant anything. Whether a request to it succeeds depends on who makes it. See Who may call it.
