Introduction
These variables work wherever ExpressionEngine parses channel fields, such as {exp:channel:entries}, and member fields, such as {exp:member:custom_profile_data}. In the examples the field is called customer_signature. Use your own field's short name.
| Variable | Outputs |
|---|---|
{customer_signature} | An <img> of the signature |
{customer_signature:url} | The signature's PNG data URL |
{customer_signature:width} | The field's canvas width, in pixels |
{customer_signature:height} | The field's canvas height, in pixels |
{field_name}
An <img> of the signature, with width and height set to the field's canvas size:
<img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgo…" width="400" height="200" />
It has no alt attribute. When the entry has no signature, or holds something that isn't a PNG data URL, the src is empty, so test the field first:
{if customer_signature}{customer_signature}{/if}
{field_name:url}
The saved value: the signature as a PNG data URL, beginning data:image/png;base64,. Empty when there's no signature. Use it as an <img> src in your own markup. See Displaying signatures.
{field_name:width}
The field's Canvas Width setting. It's the same for every entry, signed or not.
{field_name:height}
The field's Canvas Height setting. It's the same for every entry, signed or not.
Conditionals
{if customer_signature} is true when the entry has a signature and false when it's empty or was cleared.
