Introduction

On the publish form, an Autograph field behaves one of two ways, chosen by Save in Control Panel in its field settings.

Save in Control Panel off (the default)

The field is read-only. Editors see the saved signature as an image, or Not signed yet. when there isn't one. Saving the entry keeps the signature as it was.

Use this when signatures must come from the person signing, through a Channel Form, and never from an editor.

Save in Control Panel on

The field shows the signing pad, with Undo and Clear buttons, styled to match the control panel. An existing signature is drawn on the pad when the entry opens.

Editors can sign, sign over the existing signature, or Clear it. The change is saved with the entry.

Use this when signatures are collected in person, on a tablet signed into the control panel, or when editors need to remove a signature.
